How do you drive users to your site?
Recruiting volunteers from within a corporation poses some unique challenges and some wonderful opportunities. It’s a lot different than if you were operating a non-profit organization. The potential pool of volunteers are your co-workers and other employees and managers within the company. The messaging and recruitment materials you use are probably unique to your situation, but we know that a lot of our clients approach the recruitment of volunteers in similar ways.
Please post some of the more interesting and successful ways in which you have motivated the average employee at your company to step up to the challenge and become a proud volunteer.
Recently, I've been going to team meetings, one department at a time to demo the AngelPoints software. The live interaction and fast response to questions is really making a difference with our first time log-ins. I also tout the "WIFM" What's In It For Me? benefits of using the software like, easy tracking of hours for donations to our United Way Campaign and posting events & getting hands-on support for initiatives that matter to the individuals.
Last week, I went to two production team meetings (5:00 am - ugh!). I presented to a total of 25 people and handed them a "cheat sheet"...some screen captures of the first few screens they would see, with some basic instructions. I also personalized these cheat sheets with their name, username and password.
Out of the 25 people I presented to, 14 of them logged in within the following 3 days!
I was really pleased with the results. I'm discovering that the roll-out of the software is really enhanced by live interaction.
Nothing beats the I-Pod hunt though, that garnered 300+ logins within 2 short months. There is just something about a tangible gift that motivates the masses.
IPod Hunts have been a very effective way for some AngelPoints clients to drive new usage to their site. Contact your Account Manager for more information on how an IPod Hunt could be beneficial for your company!
