AngelPoints Client Luncheon: World Cafe Discussion

I had a wonderful time at this year's AngelPoints Client Luncheon helping facilitate a world café discussion with everyone. I was really impressed with the sophisticated levels of discussion from all of the brilliant minds in the room.

I know we didn't have enough time to devote to the question I posed, "What is the one thing you could do to double the effectiveness of your program?" But, it touched off a lot of great discussion about what has and hasn't worked within each of your programs.

What items do you use to promote your volunteer program?

Hello AngelPoints Community,

I have recently been getting a lot of questions around what fun items companies use to promote their volunteer program.

I have seen many creative ideas out there but would love to hear from all of our "experts" out there!
Andover, CSAA, Land O'Lakes, Sun, Ernst & Young are just some of our clients that have sent us really great items.

Fun items that seem to grab the most attention:
-Beer Coozies, Binoculars, Mints, Temporary tattoos, blow up beach balls, piggy banks, luggage tags, lip balm

April 11th-Post Event Conversation

Thank you for joining the discussion hosted Alan Hassenfeld, Chairman of Hasbro, Inc. on Book Talk: The Business of Changing the World on April 11th, 2007 at 8:00 am PST/11:00 am EST.

Please join in this live forum discussion hosted by AngelPoints. Among many things, we will address the question: "How can we as individual Employee Volunteer Program Managers “manage up" to our CEOs (and board members) and effectively communicate what we need to create success around our CSR initiatives?"

Enjoy the Conversation.

Version: v1 & EVS’07

We’ll start small with our tips in the new AngelPoints community. This set of tips & guidelines works well whether you’re using v1 or EVS’07. You don’t need to follow these rules to the letter, but rather use them as helpers to build a good event description.

How do you drive users to your site?

Recruiting volunteers from within a corporation poses some unique challenges and some wonderful opportunities. It’s a lot different than if you were operating a non-profit organization. The potential pool of volunteers are your co-workers and other employees and managers within the company. The messaging and recruitment materials you use are probably unique to your situation, but we know that a lot of our clients approach the recruitment of volunteers in similar ways.
